About Panama
Friendly people, tropical climate, beaches everywhere, history, ecotourism, solid financial district, presence of multinational companies, harbors in both oceans, direct flights to North America, Central America, South America and Europe plus a channel catalogued by many as the eighth wonder of this era are just a few of the attributes of Panama.
Panama has been known as a multicultural country since the Spanish Colonization because Portobello was the port in the route from Spain, which, going through the isthmus, went all the way to Peru. After the California Gold Rush, our Isthmus regained its status due to the railroad that communicated the seas and that was the precursor to the Panama Canal. All that heritage in regard to mixed races can be observed today in the great diversity of cultures that range from the culinary arts to religious belief.
Among other advantages, the American dollar flows freely in the country and, because of its geographical position, Panama is not greatly affected by storms and hurricanes!
